The short version: we store as little as we can, we never sell or share your data, and we run no third-party advertising trackers. What we do store and why is explained below.
Account. When you create an account we store your email and a salted one-way password hash (we never see or store your raw password), your plan and trial status, and the backtests you save — so they can sync across your devices.
Usage. To improve the product we record page views and feature usage with a device identifier, your IP address, and your email if you are signed in. This is first-party analytics for product improvement only.
Approximate location. From your IP address we derive an approximate place — country, region/state and city — so we can see which regions our visitors come from. This is never street-level: we do not store coordinates, and we do not try to identify individuals or households. The lookup runs on our own server against an offline database (DB-IP Lite, CC BY 4.0), so your IP is not sent to any third-party geolocation service. Location is shown only inside our own admin dashboard and is never published, shared or sold.
Payments are not enabled yet. When real billing is turned on, card and payment details will be handled by our payment processor, not by us — we never see or store your full card number. The processor's privacy policy applies to the payment step.
To stop one person from taking unlimited free trials, we compute a one-way hash of basic browser and device details when a trial starts. This fingerprint cannot be reversed into your identity, is kept only for fraud prevention, and is never shared with advertisers.
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember this device’s trial state. Clearing site data removes it. We do not run third-party advertising cookies or trackers.
We do not sell or share your personal data. We share data only with the service providers needed to run SeeFund (hosting, and later email and payments), and where required by law or to protect the service and its users.
We keep your account and saved backtests until you close the account or delete them; you can delete any saved backtest anytime. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be kept longer. If you close your account, we delete your personal data as described under “Your rights”; billing records are kept only for legal and tax reasons and are not used for marketing.
You can access, correct or delete the personal data we hold, and ask what we have stored. To close your account or exercise any of these rights, email support@seefund.app and we will act within 30 days. Where the law where you live gives you additional privacy rights, we honor them too.
SeeFund is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
SeeFund may be operated from servers in the United States; by using the service you consent to data being processed there. We apply the same safeguards described here regardless of where data is processed.
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, sessions use random tokens, and when served over the web the site is intended to be delivered over HTTPS. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

City-level IP geolocation uses the free DB-IP Lite database, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. The lookup happens on our own server; no visitor IP is sent to a third party.
